Thank You for Being a Part of My Dream
It is with the greatest personal honor to welcome you to this shop. I've been dreaming, plotting and toiling over the creation of Spirit Animals for the past four years, and finally, through a career that kept me traveling 50% of the time and the birth of my daughter, I've carved out enough time to bring this dream into existence.
However, I feel like I was meant to do this all my life. Ever since I was a young child in the nineties, I've been fascinated by the wild creatures on our planet. I would devour every month's "Wildlife Fact File" cards (if you were young in the 90s, you may remember these binders) and learning about their conservation status. It stuck with me that so many of the animals that I loved the most might go extinct. To a 7 year old, that was pretty heartbreaking. And now, as an adult, it breaks my heart just the same.
I know that Spirit Animals is just a small way to get involved in helping some of the most magnificent parts of our world. My intention is that even though it is a little reminder, our pieces are a visible token that can tell the story of these animals and places that need us.
As the human species, we are dominating this planet at an unsustainable rate. However, I also believe that we are intelligent, compassionate and creative enough to determine a future where humanity and leopards, orangutans, rainforests. and all the rest, can exist. The dim truth is, if we don't, our planet will become unsustainable for all life, including our own. We can work together to make that nightmare an impossibility.
Each of our Spirit Animals pieces have been painstakingly researched, redesigned and hand crafted to ensure that you will purchase something of value. Not only intrinsic value, but a piece of jewelry that means a whole lot more.
I hope that you find a connection with our grassroots effort to make some changes, to raise awareness and just get people thinking about how our daily life impacts so much more than ourselves. Whether you identify with one of our animals or habitats closely as your own spirit animal, or you feel that connection with the natural world, I hope our pendants serve as a daily reminder of this interconnectedness.
Our planet's animals and planets are part of us. Let's be their champions. Let's be the species that turns it all around.
With all my gratitude to you,
Kelley
