Our stoic solid 14k gold Rhinoceros walks ahead, head gently lifted bearing it's iconic horn. The relief on the body depicts the strength and size of the rhino, one of the most massive mammals on the planet. Despite their size, Rhinos are herbivores and relatively peaceful, keeping to themselves without any known predators except for mankind. Our Rhino represents the Black & White Rhino, both found in Africa and known for their larger size and larger horn.
The Rhino's horn has led to incessant poaching of all of the rhino species, nearly to extinction. Nearly 2 rhinos are poached a day solely for their horn, which is ground into "medicines" primarily for use in Asia. None of these medicinal claims have any scientific proof.
